$18 million more each year. Residents deserve receipts.
After Perris voters approved Measure B, the Press-Enterprise reported Lupe's call for stronger oversight. Her position is clear: new revenue should be tied to specific public needs, measured against results, and easy for residents to track.

Perris voters approved Measure B with 60% of the vote. The measure raises the city sales-tax rate from 7.75% to 8.75% and is projected to generate about $18 million each year.
Lupe urged the city to designate that revenue for specific expenditures instead of placing it only in the general fund. She also questioned continued spending on nonessential events and landscaping after the city declared a fiscal emergency.
Lupe's standard:Tell residents where the money is going, publish measurable results, and make every new dollar easy to account for.
